Agency arrests, prosecutes 34 traffic offenders in Gombe

The Federal Road Safety Commission command in Gombe has persecuted thirty four traffic offenders.

Their offences included driving with fake driver’s licences, invalid licences and overloading.

Mr Ayobami Omiyale, the state Sector Commander, spoke on the high amount of offenders arraigned before mobile courts.

“We want people to know that it is not the prerogative of the FRSC alone to ensure safety on the road. That was the reason why the chief judge assigned a magistrate to be in charge of the court. The court also gives him an option of paying a fine or challenging his arrest."

Last year, 878 traffic offenders were arraigned before 200 mobile courts.

Their offences included mechanical deficiency, drivers’ licence violation, and more.
