On Saturday, September 17, 2016 I was one of the select fans that took time out to go celebrate with Eva at her debut album "1960" listening party and I would say it was all a worthwhile experience altogether.

Here are five things I got to learn about the talent that is Eva.

1. She’s as sweet as they come when it comes to appreciating her friends and fans but can also subtly ignore those that apparently don’t give a sh*t about her music, person and growth.

I perceived this first hand when she politely sidelined me at the photo session with fans after I told her I didn’t particularly buy the album with my money (Yes I didn’t purchase the album, I got to listen to it through someone who had bought it already - shoot me).

When she naturally should have stood between me and the other lady fan who had supposedly bought the album and  interestingly happened to be an upcoming rapper, she instead stood at the far end with the lady fan in the middle, paying her  more attention (not like I was jealous though), chatting about the album and all.

But hey it’s fine, I could totally understand where she was coming from, the session was originally for fans that bought the album. This is not to say however that she is a snub as we actually did talk both before, during and after the photo session, so it was probably just at that moment she kind of turned me off, at least that's how I felt.

2. She has excellent chemistry with the producers Gray Jonz and TinTin both of whom she has been working with since forever – this shows loyalty and her ability to keep long term work associates as well as develop long standing mutually beneficial relationships.

3. Despite her 'tomboyish' look, Eva showed she is every bit of feminine with her track ‘Woman’ which featured amazing sounds from Femi Kuti.

4. The headphones given to each fan was perhaps the major highlight of the album listening session, where fans got to listen to the album up closer on very dope headphone sets, which had each track playing back to back.

5. She really does have true fans. Asides all the merriment of pizza feasting and cocktail drinking, fans at the event did give her good feedback on the album when it mattered most to her, talking about their favourite tracks on the album(mine being 'Pretty' which is track 7 on the album - Gray Jonz killed it for me) and how much of a talent she really is, adjudging the "1960" album to be worth the wait.
