Notably, Leoni Higli of Switzerland led the qualifications in Birmingham with a throw of 62.33 meters, setting a new national record. Germany's Julia Ulbricht secured second with 60.86 meters.

Other athletes who surpassed the 60-meter mark in the preliminary round included Croatia's Sara Kolak (60.82m) and Turkey's Esra Turkmen (60.43m).

Vilagoš's final throw of 57.25 meters in the qualifiers earned her tenth place and a spot in the final.
