Amuneke is currently the coach of Nigeria’s U-23, the Flying Eagles and has contacted Zamalek to apply for their coaching position.
The club chairman Mortada Mansoour revealed that they are currently deliberating the issues after being contacted by the coach.
“Amuneke contacted us officially asking to take charge of the team but we are still discussing the matter," Mansoour told ON Sport.

Amuneke has enjoyed a steady rise in his coaching career from being as assistant coach of the Golden Eaglets to Manu Garba and the chief coach of the team.
He led the Golden Eaglets to FIFA U-17 World Cup title in Chile.
