In the next stage of the season's third major, the seventh-seeded Serb will face Russian Roman Safiullin (world No. 132). Safiullin, who entered the main draw of the British Open through qualifying, defeated Brazil's João Fonseca (world No. 27) in the third round with a dominant 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 victory.

Djokovic is aiming for his eighth title on the London grass, having previously triumphed in 2011, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022. He most recently lost the finals in 2023 and 2024. His Wimbledon titles are part of an impressive haul of 24 Grand Slams, which also includes ten Australian Open victories, four US Open titles, and three French Open crowns.

Djokovic's success at the grass-court Slam is remarkable; he recorded his 105th match win at the tournament today, matching Roger Federer's record.

With this victory, Sinner reaches the round of 16 of the London major for the fifth consecutive time. His next opponent will be Japan's Shintaro Mochizuki (world No. 151), who caused an upset by eliminating Spain's Rafael Joda (world No. 26) in four sets: 1-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4, 6-4.
