Egypt's forward Mostafa Ziko voiced his frustration following their World Cup last-16 clash against Argentina. He scored his team's second goal in a 3-2 defeat, but an earlier strike of his was disallowed. Ziko believes the entire tournament was rigged in favor of the reigning world champions.

“Congratulations to Argentina on their World Cup title; the tournament was fixed, they didn't need anything more. The referee was unfair, unfair, unfair, unfair. We played a great match against the reigning world champions. But the referee, François Letexier, was clearly biased from the very start of the game. He constantly tried to stop us and wanted to neutralize us on the pitch,” stated the Pharaohs' player.
The 29-year-old Ziko plays for Pyramids in his home country.
