The Denver Nuggets kicked off their new NBA campaign on the wrong foot, suffering a 96-84 road defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder as Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray fell well short of expectations.

Jokic finished the game with 13 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, struggling from the floor on just 5-of-19 shooting.

Murray endured an even rougher outing, tallying six points, 10 rebounds, and three assists while shooting a dismal 2-of-11.

On the other side, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was also far from his best, seeing his remarkable 141-game streak of scoring at least 20 points come to an end.

It was obvious by halftime that all three stars were off their game, prompting Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith to poke fun at the uncharacteristic struggles of Nikola, Jamal, and Shai on "Inside the NBA."

The moment their first-half stat lines popped up on screen, Barkley and Smith had plenty to say.

"They should trade him!" Barkley on Jokic, who had eight points on 3-of-12 shooting.
"They should cut him." Smith on Murray, who had five points on 2-of-9 shooting.

"Come on, man, only two points? That guy's a bum. Send him to the G League tomorrow!" Barkley on Shai, who had two points on 0-of-7 shooting.
