“He was my first signing, I brought him from Marseille and it was great for me that is why I came to Nigeria today because of my respect for Joe,” Moyes told Pulse TV.

Yobo retired as the most capped Super Eagles player and the Scottish manager said he always knew that the former defender was going to do great things in his career.

“I always thought Yobo was a very good player,” Moyes continued.

“I thought he had potential and he showed it. He had good strength, pace. He had a great career in the Premier League and a great career as well.”

The former Manchester United manager however refused to take personal questions. “We are only here for Yobo,” he said.
