Saturday's English Premier League against Arsenal, might be David de Gea's last match for Manchester United as a move to Real Madrid draw nearer.
The Spanish goalkeeper according to earlier reports, has agreed to move to the La Liga giants and even Manchester United coach Louis van Gaal knows he can't stop the move.
The Dutch tactician admitted that a move to Spain might be too much for his number one goalkeeper to turn down considering that his girlfriend and his whole family stays in the country.
"I analyse his position and then I say he is Spanish, he is Spanish international, still behind (Iker) Casillas, now a Spanish club is coming, his girlfriend is Spanish, his father and mother come here every week or every two weeks so it is difficult," Van Gaal said after the game against Arsenal.
"He shall not leave us so easily because we have a great club. But he can go to another great club and that is for him to decide.
"We have given a fantastic contract because we want him to stay. I think he has had a fantastic season.’
De Gea who limped out of the Arsenal game has one year left on his contract and has refused to signed an extension offer worth £200, 000 per week.
Van Gaal admitted that he cannot persuade the goalkeeper but advised him to hink long and hard before walking away from the club.
"I don’t think I can persuade him because he knows everything that he has at that moment in Manchester United. I don’t have to say something in benefit of Manchester United because he can feel it every day," Van Gaal said.
"You have seen the fans – unbelievable. When he is going, he is losing that. Here he has a lot of credits. He has to decide."
