Katusha and Joaquim Rodriguez have agreed to a deal that will see the Spaniard remain with the team for 2016.

Joaquim Rodriguez has agreed to extend his deal with Katusha and stay with the team for 2016.

The Spaniard has won two stages of the Tour de France this year, continuing a strong season that has also seen him claim the Tour of the Basque Country title.

"How could I make the choice not to continue with my current team? The atmosphere has never been better than this season," Rodriguez said.

"It was my dream to go on with Team Katusha, with my current team-mates and current staff. For me it was a logical choice.

"I can now tackle the final week of the Tour de France worry free."
