Cucurella vowed to get such a tattoo if Spain triumphed with the World Cup title and is already searching for a tattoo artist to fulfill his pledge. After "La Furia" won the World Cup final against Argentina 1-0, Cucurella posted on his social media after the match: "Are there any tattoo artists in the room?"

Immediately after the match, the first question posed to Cucurella in the mixed zone was about the tattoo. "I need to think about where I'll get the tattoo of De la Fuente's face. I don't know yet. People will ask me about it, so it doesn't have to be in a visible spot, but whatever. We have a long journey ahead; I hope they give me ideas, I'll think about it, and then I'll have to do it," he commented.

"I am very proud, very happy. Ultimately, it's not easy to be here. Throughout our careers, especially during our teenage years and when we are young, it's tough, and you have to make decisions. Sometimes people tell you that you're not good enough or that you'll never succeed. To all those people who say these things, I thank them for taking the time to give me their advice, as well as everyone who has helped me. We were persistent, we never gave up, and today we have the reward of being here," the world champion stated after the final at MetLife Stadium in Rutherford.

"This summer wasn't easy for us, and I'm very happy... It's been a long journey; we've been together for a long time, and now it's time to celebrate. We came here with a goal, we spent almost 50 days in training camp, and now it's time to celebrate, to be together, to remember the moments," he added.
