In a video released by Real Madrid, Ronaldo is seen speaking to his teammates, urging them to work harder as they held a 1-0 lead courtesy of Sergio Ramos.
The video which is part of a new documentary called ‘At the heart of the eleventh’ documenting the team’s before, during and after the clash .
“Listen, I wanna say something: we're 45 minutes away from making history,” the Portugal international says in the video.
“Tiredness is psychological at times. We have to do another 45 at our best. We can do it because we are good.
“It's all mental. We're 45 away from making history. Let's defend like we have defended in the first half. Let's go! Let's go!”
Atletico Madrid, however, equalised in the second half to force the game into penalty shoot-out which was won by Real Madrid.
Ronaldo scored the decisive penalty to hand Real Madrid their 11th Champions League trophy.
