Since joining the club, the forward has scored 376 goals in 363 appearances making him Real Madrid’s all-time goalscorer.

Perez splashed a then world record fee of £80 million to sign Ronaldo from Manchester United in 2009.

Ronaldo who has scored 10 La Liga goals this season recently signed a new five-year-contract at Real Madrid and Perez is delighted to have tied him down.

"Cristiano is special, his stats are scandalous,” the Real president said.

"We are delighted with Cristiano Ronaldo. He gives us more than we pay him. We have renewed his contract for five more years and we are very proud to have done so."

The 31-year-old struck twice as Real Madridopen up a seven-point lead over Barcelona at the top of La Liga with a 2-1 win over Sporting Gijon on Saturday, November 28.

Ronaldo opened the scoring from the penalty spot before he headed home a second inside 20 minutes.
