Real Madrid forward is best paid player in world football

Ronaldo’s new deal takes his weekly pay to £365,000-a-week taking him above Gareth Bale who earns £346,000 per week (£18m per year)- all after tax.

Ronaldo signed the contract at a press conference organised by Real Madrid on Monday.

At the conference, the 31-year-old was shown a film of his best goals for Real Madrid and also the footage of his presentation at the Bernabeu when he signed in 2009.

Only his Barcelona rival Lionel Messi earns as much as him in world football.
