Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has openly discussed his long-term future at Real Madrid, admitting that while he dreams of ending his career at the Santiago Bernabéu, the ultimate decision rests with the Spanish club.
The 34-year-old Belgian international is still widely regarded as one of the top goalkeepers in world football, with his current contract set to run until June 2027.
Following Belgium's 0-0 draw against Iran in the North American World Cup, Courtois was candid about his emotional connection to Real Madrid.
“It depends on what the club wants. I have great respect for Real. I hope I can finish my career there in four or five years, we’ll see,” the goalkeeper commented, as quoted by Goal.com.
“That’s my dream, obviously. When I was a child, I dreamed of playing for Real. I’ve been there for eight years now and I’m very happy,” the Belgian international added.
