Could We See Kante at a World Cup for the First Time Since 2018?

N'Golo Kante could make his first World Cup appearance in the quarter-final clash against Morocco. Didier Deschamps is reportedly considering Kante's experience and energy due to Aurelien Tchouameni's thigh issue, which is likely to sideline him for the match. Meanwhile, Manu Kone will not start to avoid a potential yellow card that would rule him out of the semi-finals.

If the 35-year-old Kante features against Morocco, it would mark his first World Cup match since the 2018 final, where France defeated Croatia. He missed the World Cup in Qatar due to injury and subsequently faced a long spell without national team call-ups.

The former Leicester midfielder's last appearance for Les Bleus was in a friendly against Colombia back in March.

Kante will be vying for a starting spot alongside Paris Saint-Germain talent Warren Zaire-Emery to partner Adrien Rabiot in midfield.
