Disaster kills 5 children in Jigawa

According to an eyewitness, the disaster struck whilst the family slept, The Sun reports.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Jigawa State Command, DSP Abdul Jibril, said three died instantly at about 1 AM.

The remaining members of the family were all rushed to Maigatari hospital, where two more died.

Jibril said the mother and one other child are still in the hospital, as a result of the various degrees of injuries.

The deceased children were Aliyu, 11, Usman, 9, Safiya, 6, Amir, 5 and Fati, 2.
