The South Africa scrum-half suffered the injury during Friday's 48-15 hammering at the hands of Highlanders in Dunedin and is to return to South Africa.

Conrad Hoffmann and Stefan Ungerer are in contention to deputise for Reinach for the remainder of the tour.

Sharks face Super Rugby leaders Hurricanes in Wellington on Saturday before heading to Australia to take on Waratahs and Reds.
