RCCG pastor kidnapped during church service

A Redeemed Christian Church of God pastor has been kidnapped during a church service in Kogi state, Punch reports.

Pastor Ayo Raphael was kidnapped during the Sunday service at the Resurrection parish of the RCCG in Kabba junction in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

According to eyewitness report, the yet-to-be-identified kidnappers, numbering about 10, stormed the church and asked everyone to lie face down.

An eyewitness, who preferred anonymity “The pastor was dragged out of the church into the bush while the abductors shot sporadically into the air to facilitate their escape.”

Some members of the congregation were reported to have sustained injury during their scamper for safety, however, no loss of life was recorded.

It was gathered that the kidnappers had contacted the church, demanding N50m before the pastor could be released.
