Faction leader of the
He has always claimed that the September, 2014 election which put Pinnick in office was faulty but his case has been ruled out by FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sports.
With the clash at the NFF, Dalung made a move to reconcile all warring factions of the federation which has been rejected by Giwa.
According to Daily Trust, Dalung had on Tuesday, April 19 appointed former NFF boss Ibrahim Galadima as the head of a reconciliation committee to resolve issues in the NFF.
Members of the committee include Tijani Yusuf,Bolaji Ojo-Oba, Musa Amadu, Paul Bassey, Okey Obi and Carol Nkem Ojukwu members.
Giwa and his board members have however rejected the invitation from the committee claiming that Dalung's effort was lacking in good faith and was calculated to hoodwink Nigerians.
"The minister betrayed his partisanship in the dispute by wasting no time to hold brief for the Amaju Pinnick group in his erroneous and flawed public statement that the group was entitled to 30 days to appeal against the ruling of the court,” a statement from Giwa’s board reads.
"The minister has thus lost the moral podium to midwife any settlement of the dispute. Secondly, the composition of the membership of the so called reconciliation committee leaves no one in doubt that it was constituted only for a hatchet job for the Amaju Pinnick group."
After the ruling of the Jos High Court, the NFF responded swiftly by filing an appeal to vacate the order and a motion for a stay-of-execution against the judgement.
The appeal filed on the same day as the court order means the status quo remains, meaning Pinnick remains NFF President pending determination of suit.
In response to the drama, world football governing body FIFA, have informed NFF that they face sanction if Pinnick is removed as president.
