Crystal Palace and France international defender Maxence Lacroix is reportedly on the verge of a move to Chelsea, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Sources indicate that the London-based "Blues" are in advanced negotiations with Crystal Palace. The player himself has already given his consent to join the Stamford Bridge outfit. Chelsea is confident of reaching an agreement for the French international's transfer. Both clubs are in direct contact to find a resolution that satisfies all parties and finalizes the deal.

Crystal Palace is seeking more than the €65 million Tottenham paid Brighton for center-back Jan Paul van Hecke last summer for Lacroix.

Lacroix is 26 years old. Last season, the Frenchman featured in 55 matches across all club competitions, scoring three goals and providing three assists. His current contract with Palace runs until the summer of 2029.
