NBA legend Charles Barkley expressed his bewilderment at the trade that sent Jaylen Brown to Philadelphia. After ten years with the Boston Celtics, the star forward moved to the Sixers. In return, Boston received two first-round draft picks, two second-round picks, and 36-year-old veteran Paul George.
"I couldn't believe it was happening. That the news was real. So much fake information circulates online. What did they get? Paul George and some draft picks here and there? Philadelphia got away with murder," Barkley commented in an interview with Unfiltered.
"The Sixers were at a dead end. Paul's contract, Joel's health. They had no chance for the next 3-5 years. And now they are real title contenders," he added.
"I've heard various opinions. But I have no idea what the hell the Celtics were doing. You can make a mistake in one trade. But to trade an aging player for the MVP of the first half of the season – that's insane," Charles Barkley concluded.
