Game to become NPFL season opener
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have ruled that the Charity Cup will be the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) opener.
The annual Charity Cup match is the game between the NPFL winners against Federation Cup champions.
It was usually played on the day of the NFF general assembly, but the NFF Technical and Development Committee have now ruled that I will be played a week before the start of the 2015/2016 season.
“We have decided that, in line with what obtains in most big footballing nations of the world, the Charity Cup match will now serve as the season –opener,” Vice Chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Committee, Alh. Ahmed Yusuf Fresh told TheNFF.com on Monday.

NPFL champions,and Federation Cup winners, will square up in the next edition.
