Carragher: Liverpool Must Extend Rio Ngumoha's Contract

Liverpool must extend the contract of youngster Rio Ngumoha, according to former Reds defender Jamie Carragher.

"Rio Ngumoha is one of the best young players in the country. He is already an international, and Liverpool simply have to extend his contract. We saw against Brentford that he is capable of making a difference," Carragher said.

"Rio himself said he is very close to a new deal with Liverpool, so I hope they get it signed as soon as possible," the former defender added.

Ngumoha, who turned 18 in August, already has three caps for the England national team. He has made 38 appearances for Liverpool, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
