The Super Eagles of Nigeria will today face Egypt in the second leg of their 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifying double header.
Egypt held Nigeria to a 1-1 draw in Kaduna on Friday, March 25.
Super Eagles team doctor Ibrahim Gyaran said that the goalkeeper has stomach upset which has kept him out of training since Friday's game in Kaduna.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper took to Twitter to confirm the report and reveal that he will be heading home to recover.
“Thanks for the messages and Gutted to miss Egypt game. I was unwell early hours Friday morning and been unable to eat since Thursday night,” the 29-year-old wrote.
“Thanks to the doctor and coaches for their care over the last few days. I will be going home to recovery and support the team on Tuesday.”
The Super Eagles of Nigeria are second in the group with five points, while Egypt lead with seven.
