Senegal beat Nigeria to win 2016 title
Senegal on Sunday, December 18 beat host Nigeria to win the 2016 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations.
They took the lead in the fifth minute through Man of the Match Babacar Fall but the Sand Eagles equalised a minute later through skipper Isiaka Olawale.
Senegal regained the lead through Mamadou Sylla with two minutes left before the Sand Eagles equalised again through Suleiman Mohammed.
Nigeria went ahead through Ogbonna Emeka before the end of the first period.
In the second period, Senegal scored two quick goals in the sixth and seventh minute through Hamidou Barry and Lansana Diassy respectively.
The Sand Eagles levelled up through Mohammed before the end of the second period.
In the third period, it was all Senegal who scored Fall, two from Sylla Papa Ndoye to sealed the win.
Nigeria qualified for the Beach Soccer World Cup by beating Morroco in the semi-final 6-1.
