His notable appearance came in the dead rubber group game against England at the Nagai Stadium, Osaka.

In an interview years after the game, Christopher claimed that his performance against the Three Lions was his best in a Super Eagles shirt.

At club level, the ex-Super Eagles midfielder had quite a journey. He started his career with Katsina United before playing for Sharks FC- now Rivers United- and Bendel Insurance.

Following his stint with the Benin based club, Christopher moved to Europe to sign for Royal Antwerp.

However, he had a short spell with the Belgian club, playing just 14 games and scoring one goal.

After leaving Antwerp, Christopher played in Bulgaria with Levski Sofia before short stints at Trelleborg, Alania Vladikavkaz and Herfølge.

He returned home after his time at Herfølge to sign for Nasarawa, which was his last club before retirement.
