Soldiers stop terrorists from recapturing Gwoza

 
 
The insurgents were said to have invaded the town early on Friday, November 13, but were chased out by troops who engaged them in a fierce gun battle till 8am.

Soldiers of the Nigerian Army have prevented an attempt by Boko Haram terrorists to recapture Gwoza in Borno State.

Weapons, including anti-aircraft guns and AK-47s, were also recovered from the terrorists, according to Channels.

The attack and casualty figure are yet to be confirmed by official military sources.

Gwoza, once the headquarters of Boko Haram, was recaptured by the Army in March 2015.
