Cameroon to send 2450 soldiers to join fight against terrorists

The country had initially pledged to send 750 troops but reviewed the number based on recommendations from regional leaders during a security summit in June 2015.

Cameroon will send 2450 soldiers to join the multinational force against Boko Haram, President Paul Biya has said.

Biya announced the new number on Friday, August 14, 2015, via a statement.
The force will also include soldiers from Chad, Benin Republic, Niger and Nigeria and will be headquartered in N’djamena.
