Rafael Obrador, Benfica's 22-year-old Spanish left-back, is reportedly on Real Sociedad's radar, with the Spanish club already having made inquiries with the Eagles.
According to Radio MARCA Donostia, Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay and football director Erik Bretos were in the Algarve, meeting with high-ranking Benfica officials. Rui Costa, Benfica's president, and Mário Branco, the club's general director, accompanied the team during recent matches against Flamengo and Villarreal in the south of the country.
Obrador, an Spain U21 international, gained prominence during the second half of last season while on loan at Italian side Torino, but has since returned to the Estádio da Luz. The Italian club opted not to activate their €9 million purchase option, leaving Benfica to seek a new destination for the left-back, who is not part of Marco Silva's plans.
