Koufie according to reports from Ghana, died at the Korle Bu Hospital after a brief illness.
Koufie led Asante Kotoko to the Africa Club Championship in 1971 and also worked with Great Olympics,African Sports in Ivory Coast and Akosombo Akotex.
He was also coach of the Zimbabwean national team from 1988-1992.
The 84-year-old also served as the president of the GFA 2001 -2003 after serving as the technical director of the Botswana FA for eight years.
