Aston Villa's management is seriously considering a move for Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, according to Sky Sports. The Parma shot-stopper has impressed over the past two seasons with his club, as well as with his performances for the "Samurai Blue," who were eliminated from the World Cup after a defeat to Brazil two days ago. He started all four of Japan's matches at the 2026 World Cup and was previously linked with Manchester United. Suzuki, only 23 years old, is seen as a promising acquisition, representing one of the most talented young players in his position. He is under contract with Parma until the summer of 2029.
The Birmingham club is actively scouting the market for a goalkeeper to replace Emiliano Martinez, who for the second consecutive summer is looking to leave Villa Park and is expected to join Juventus in the coming weeks. Aston Villa is also exploring other options, including Rennes' goalkeeper Guillaume Restes and James Trafford from Manchester City.
