Aston Villa Announce Tielemans' Replacement

Aston Villa has officially confirmed the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder João Gomes. The transfer, which had been anticipated for several days, was finalized today by the Villa Park club. Gomes becomes Villa's third summer acquisition, following the arrivals of Johan Manzambi and Modou Keba Cisse. The total deal for Gomes could reach a maximum of £38 million, with an initial fee of £34 million and an additional £4 million in potential add-ons for Wolves. Gomes faces the challenging task of replacing Youri Tielemans in midfield, who departed for Manchester United in a £35 million move. The Brazilian registered one goal and three assists in 41 appearances for Wolverhampton last season, but was unable to prevent the 'Wolves' from being relegated from the Premier League.
