The 30 people emerged from the  Pitch Innovation Ideas hunt organized in Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt in June.

The project, organised in fulfillment of the Presidency’s commitment to boost technology and encourage innovative ideas, was tagged: “Aso Villa Demo Day” (AVDD).

A statement by Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to Vice President, Mr Laolu Akande, on Thursday, August 4, said winners would be hosted at State House to pitch their winning ideas.

The finalists are: Chika Uwaze, Obidipe Oluwaseun, Tele Ogundipe, Amaka Osita, Tolu Adeyanju, Ifedayo Oladapo, Nkem Okocha, Ebuka Nwora, Dami Olokesusi, Amarachi Nwanamodo, and the trio of Oladimeji Sofowora, Wole Ralph and Laolu Ojeniyi.

Others are Mogbeyiteran Tosan, Angela Adelaja, Ahmed Sodiq, Dimgba Kalu, the duo of Abubakar Garba & Abdul Samad Gorbin, Emmanuel Okena, Lois Auta, Kamaludeen Sabiu, Peter Agada, Desmond Okoye, Uzuq Tim, and Alifa Nicholas.

The rest are the pair of Roland Reagan and Edmond Adoku, Akinola Solomon, Alison Ukonu, Uche Ariolu, Benson Godwin, Mina Ogbanga, and Odior Yole.

The release said during the pitch, the participants demonstrated a spirit of resilience by coming up with ideas and solutions for Technology, Agriculture, Communications, Power, Fashion and Entertainment.It said the youths also revealed their talents, skills and critical thinking.

In the selection process, each applicant was assessed by a team of judges and some of the criteria used in assessing were viability, market and idea uniqueness as well as functionality of the product.

Akande said the 30 finalists would be given further instructions via phone calls and emails shortly from the AVDD team.

He said some of the messages would state the technological hubs each finalist had been assigned for incubation ahead of the presidential reception.

According to Akande, technology industry experts believe this is a revolution of significant proportions never witnessed in Nigeria.
