Super Falcons star says Nigeria are underdogs in forthcoming AFCON.

Asisat Oshoala thinks they will be the underdogs this time because of the state of the team.

Nigeria have been placed in Group B with Ghana, Mali and Kenyafor the tournament which holds in Cameroonn.

Nine times winners are going into the tournament as defending champions, but Oshoala thinks they will be the underdogs this time because of the state of the team.

"We are currently rebuilding a new team under a new coach and I believe we're more like the underdogs going into the tournament, which makes us freer to express ourselves on the pitch," Oshoala said in an interview with .

"The coach is gradually instilling her ideas on the team and I'm confident we will not disappoint."

Florence Omagbemi who was appointed as Chief Coach of the Super Falcons is currently in camp with players.

Omagbemi invited 29 players for the pre-tournament training camp and is expected to cut the squad to a smaller size.

The 2016 Women’s AFCON kicks off on Saturday, November 19 to December, 3.
