Fulham has initiated talks with Real Madrid regarding the acquisition of forward Gonzalo Garcia, according to The Athletic.
As is widely known, the new manager for the London club is none other than Álvaro Arbeloa, who recently coached Real Madrid. It is Arbeloa himself who is driving Fulham's interest in the 22-year-old player. Conversely, José Mourinho, Arbeloa's successor at the Bernabéu, cannot guarantee Garcia sufficient playing time. Consequently, Garcia could become Arbeloa's first new signing at the English club. It's highly probable that Real Madrid will include a buy-back clause in any potential deal. Ultimately, the final decision on the transfer rests with Garcia himself.
The Spanish youth international scored eight goals in 39 appearances for Real Madrid last season, but started in only 15 of those matches, as he was the second-choice central striker behind the team's top scorer, Kylian Mbappé.
