Long time 13 years NBA career player who helped New York Knicks to the 1994 NBA Finals died at the age of 48 on Saturday.
Barely two days after the first black man to play in the NBA, Earl Lloyd passed away.
Mason suffered a heart-attack and was diagnosed of congestive heart failure last week butwas later released.
His son, Anthony Mason Jnr wrote: ‘First I want to thank all those who offered prayers and well-wishes for my father, our family really appreciates it.
‘Overnight, New York City and the world lost a legend, a friend, a brother… but more than anything our father, Anthony Mason.
‘As you would expect our father – Big Mase put up an incredible fight, dealing with a severe heart issue.
‘I’m wishing this was something else I was writing, but pops we’ve got to let you know we love you and know you’ll always be with us.’
Mason and Lloyd are two of other NBA Legends who passed away within one week.
