The Super Eagles lost 0-1 to Egypt on Tuesday, March 30 to crash out of the race to qualify for the 2017 AFCON.
Speaking after the loss, Pinnick called on football loving Nigerians to forgive the Super Eagles and the NFF.
“We are all disappointed we did qualify (for AFCON 2017),” Pinnick told footballlive.ng.
“The god of soccer did not smile on us. I believe Nigerians should forgive us for us to move on.”
He further called on Nigerians to shift their focus to the qualification of the 2018 World Cup.
“The focus now is to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. We will keep the Eagles busy during the FIFA friendly windows ahead of the World Cup qualifiers,” Pinnick further said.
The draws for Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers will be conducted in June with the games to begin in October.
