The money was said to have been a loan from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) allocated for agricultural projects in the state.

The revelation was made at the commission’s first sitting on Monday, August 24, 2015, according to ThisDay.

The commission’s lawyer said Amaechi, on January 25, 2015, approved that N3 billion of the CBN loans be converted to grants and disbursed.

Its Chairman, Justice George Omereji however denied reports that the investigation of Amaechi’s administration was a witch-hunt.

Amaechi recently said that he had been fighting the planned probe because Wike had no intention of keeping it free and fair.
