Dino captained Kano Pillars in the late 90s and was a former goalkeeper trainer at the club.
According to a statement from the Vice President, Northwest zone of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Ado Salisu, Dino died after a protracted illness.

Dino died on the morning of Monday, January, 23 at 10:00 am, he was buried the same day according to Islamic rite in due course.
Kano Pillars also confirmed the death of their former captain by releasing a condolence message on their official Twitter handle.
“Kano Pillars is deeply shocked over the death of its former captain and goalkeeper trainer, Ali Mohammed. May his gentle soul rest in peace,” the club said.
Ali Muhammad Dino was also once a coach at Union bank FC in Lagos.
