Arsene Wenger gives blessing to forward for Olympics

Iwobi who is now a full Nigeria international has declared his intention of joining .

“I am looking forward to the forthcoming Olympics and if I am invited, I will do my best to make a meaningful contribution,” the Arsenal forward told Goal.com.

Reacting to the Iwobi’s statement in a press conference ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League visit to West  Ham, Wenger says he respects the choice of the 19-year-old to choose Nigeria over England and also his wish to play in the Olympics.

“We have respect his choice. He had the choice between England and Nigeria and in the end he chose Nigeria,” Wenger told Arsenal official website.

“We respect that, and also the possibility that he will go to the Olympic Games, that he will also go to the Africa Cup of Nations and travel a bit more than he would have done here. We have to respect that.”
