This makes it his second win for the same award category at two different awards including the MAMAs 2016.

However, the awards for Best Male Act Western Africa, Song of the Year, and Best African Pop act categories in which he was also nominated eluded him on the night, losing to Flavour, Diamond Platnumz's  'Utanipenda' and Diamond Platnumz again respectively.

Wizkid has without a doubt had a phenomenal year thus far with his music penetration internationally at the heart of the matter.

Hence it's no wonder that the starboy went home with that honour edging his Nigerian counterpart Tekno who has also had an amazing year, Eddy Kenzo of Uganda,  Tiwa Savage and a host of other talented acts across the continent.

He also picked up over the weekend Best African Act and Best Worldwide Act at the MTV EMAs, and also was awarded about a week back Best African Act at the 2016 MOBO Awards.
