AFCON 2021: Super Eagles striker Peter Olayinka eyes goal scoring performance against Guinea-Bissau
Slavia Prague and Super Eagles forward Peter Olayinka believes he can grab some goals in the final Group game against Guinea Bissau.
Olayinka is expected to make his first appearance for the Super Eagles at this year's Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Although the Super Eagles have created chances freely, putting them away has been another story entirely.
Olayinka believes if given the chance he can provide the goals the team needs.
“If I get the chance to start against Guinea-Bissau, I will do my best to help us get a good result,” he told the media in Garoua.
“Every striker likes to score goals and I believe I can do that for the Super Eagles.
“The entire team is looking forward to the game against Guinea-Bissau and it will be great to maintain our performance from the game against Egypt and Sudan," the Slavia Prague forward said.
Like many in the Eagles' camp, Olayinka shares an optimism that the team has all it takes to go all the way.
“We want to keep winning and show our readiness to go all the way,” Olayinka said.
The Super Eagles play the Djuturus of Guinea Bissau on Wednesday in Garoua.
