AFCON 2021: 'Maybe luck will smile on us' - Guinea-Bissau coach optimistic ahead of clash with Super Eagles
Guinea Bissau Head coach Baciro Cande believes that, with some luck, his side can beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The Super Eagles have already qualified as group winners, while the mighty Guinea Bissau only have one point from two games.
They will be looking to upset the three-time African champions and clinch one of the four spots for the best third-place countries in the Round of 16.
“We know that no matter how strong a team is there is always a weak side and we hope to capitalize on that,” Cande said.
Although sounding optimistic, Baciro Cande is also looking for a bit of luck against a Super Eagles side that is playing some decent football.
“Nigeria is one of the best teams in Africa, a very strong side. We will play our game and hope that Nigeria makes a mistake, some errors and maybe luck will smile on us," he said.
The Super Eagles play Guinea Bissau in their final group game on Wednesday.
