Partizan basketball player Aleksej Pokuševski might soon add a Greek passport to his Serbian one, at least according to Greek media reports.

According to Greek SDNA journalist Sotiris Vetakis, Pokuševski is exploring the possibility of obtaining Greek citizenship. He came up through Olympiacos' youth ranks in Greece and later made his senior team debut for the Piraeus club.

The aforementioned source does not specify the reasons why the Partizan basketball player would want a Greek passport. However, the fact that he has not yet debuted for the Serbian senior national team has fueled speculation that the former NBA player could potentially play for the Greek national squad.

Nevertheless, there are currently no indications that this is imminent, nor has the player himself ever hinted at such a possibility. One potential reason could be an eventual return to Greek club basketball, where, with Greek citizenship, he would be considered a domestic player.

Pokuševski arrived in Greece at the age of thirteen and later became the youngest player to debut for Olympiacos in the EuroLeague, at 17 years and 81 days old. He left Athens in 2020 to move to America and join the Oklahoma City Thunder.
