Spanish football defender Marcos Alonso has extended his contract with Celta Vigo until June 30, 2028. Last season, he featured in 43 competitive matches for the La Liga side, accumulating a total of 3,759 minutes on the pitch, the most of any player in the Galician squad. This was reported by the newspaper Marca.

Marcos Alonso has played 76 matches for Celta Vigo to date, scoring five goals. “Immediately upon his arrival in Vigo, Marcos Alonso became a pivotal component in coach Claudio Giraldez's tactical system. He is versatile, strong in aerial duels, and consistently delivers high-level performances,” stated Celta officials regarding the 35-year-old former Barcelona and Chelsea player.
