2026 World Cup: Enzo Fernández's Girlfriend Shows Wild Celebrations in Stands After Ex-Benfica Star's Goal

Argentina pulled off one of the most spectacular comebacks in World Cup history on Tuesday, defeating Egypt 3-2 after trailing 0-2. Chelsea forward Enzo Fernández emerged as the hero, netting the winning goal in the 90+2nd minute of stoppage time.

With just 15 minutes remaining in regular time, the reigning world champions found themselves behind, leaving Argentine fans – and families – in despair.

After Romero pulled one back in the 79th minute and Messi equalized in the 83rd, the former Benfica star sealed the dramatic turnaround with a precise header.

The goal sent the Argentine supporters in the Atlanta stadium into a frenzy. In the stands, no one celebrated with more pride than Valentina Cervantes, the player's girlfriend. The model and content creator shared her immediate reaction through several videos on her Instagram stories. The first video showed a selfie of Cervantes with Argentine fans celebrating effusively around her.

In a subsequent video, she shared footage of Fernández celebrating with his family in the stands. "You're immense, you never disappoint," Valentina captioned the post.

However, their journey hasn't always been smooth. Enzo and Valentina have been a couple since their school days. They met in 2018, when they were 17 and 16 respectively, and he was still a River Plate player. That year, River Plate famously won the Copa Libertadores, defeating Boca Juniors in a match held in Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

Their first daughter, Olivia, was born in May 2020. When Enzo signed with Benfica in 2022, Valentina moved to Lisbon with him. Their stay in Portugal, as is well known, lasted only six months. After the Qatar World Cup, life continued in London following his move to Chelsea. Their second child, Benjamin, was born in October 2023.

The couple experienced a brief, highly publicized separation in 2024. At the time, Argentine media reported that the initiative came from him, as he desired to be single, but they reconciled in early 2025, just three months later.

In recent months, there has been speculation about Enzo's potential departure from Chelsea. However, after his agent admitted that possibilities were being explored – with Madrid reportedly lurking – Valentina assured that the family feels settled in London.
