Nigerian billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote is ready to go after another club if Arsenal owner refuses to sell the Premier League giants to him.

Dangote has often spoken about his desire to buy Arsenal, his favourite club and once stated that he would seek to take over the side when he completes his refinery in Lagos.

But with controlling shareholder Stan Kroenke now fully in control Arsenal after buying the 30% stake owned by Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov in August, it seems impossible for Dangote to buy the club.

But Africa’s richest man says he might have to go after another club if Kroenke refuses to sell.

I’m very attached to Arsenal but if he won’t sell, I might have to change,” Dangote told Bloomberg TV at the New Economy Forum in Singapore.

The 61-year-old who is worth $11.1b is a huge fan of Arsenal.

I’m very much a fan of football. I have to have a club. I don’t have to own Arsenal,” he added.

Arsenal are the sixth most valuable football club in world football and generated $556m in the 2016-17 season according to Deloitte LLP.
