Slovak President Andrej Kiska said on Monday he would ask Prime Minister Robert Fico to try to form a government after Saturday's election in which Fico's leftist Smer party won the most votes but lost its parliamentary majority.

Fico faces a tough task to find enough support among the eight parties that won seats in parliament, some of which refuse to work with Fico or one another.
