Wike declared this on Friday, June 19, 2015, after receiving the final report of his administration's Transition Committee.

Governor Nyesom Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has expressed confidence that President Muhammadu Buhari will support his probe of the alleged corrupt practices of former Governor, Rotimi Amaechi.

This was disclosed via a statement released by the governor’s aide, Simeon Nwakaudu.

“We are aware  that  the  immediate  past  administration  and her officials  will resort to blackmail  and propaganda  for the  purpose  of  diverting  attention from their corruption  practices. We shall remain focused on the task of getting back Rivers State resources and assets.”

Wike has accused the Amaechi administration of emptying the state treasury and stripping the State Government House bare of valuables.
